The #DebateMatters Project
Henrietta Ord Ames Women in Debate History Project
at Florida State Debate
The Ames Women in Debate History Project houses our collection of materials and our online publication concerning the History of Women in Debate. While our initial collection focuses on the women of Florida State Debate, our goal is to grow the project to include as many women as possible from all walks of life. We hope to shed light on the many contributions a vast variety of women have made to debate history and document their debate experiences. Throughout the history of collegiate debate in the United States, women have participated to empower themselves and others and we hope to contribute to understanding that experience with our collection and publication.
